Capital District Court Appointed Special Assistants (CASA)
CASA provides dedicated, highly trained individuals who advocate for the best interests of children who are at risk of abuse and neglect. Family Court judges appoint CASA volunteers to investigate cases of possible abuse and-or neglect. The CASA volunteer spends time talking to all parties involved, from the child to social service providers. After this extensive investigation process is completed the CASA volunteer gives the Family Court Judge a detailed report on their findings.
