New York State Department of State

The Department of State licenses a variety of professions and occupations including, real estate, cosmetology, private investigators and notaries. The Department also houses the Division of Corporations, State Records, Uniform Commercial Code, Division of Cemetaries, Licensing Services and the Division of Administrative Rules.
