Radix Ecological Sustainability Center
Radix is an ecological literacy and just sustainabilities advocacy non-profit organization based in the South End of Albany, New York. We maintain a one-acre demonstration site of regenerative tools and technologies including gardens, food forests, greenhouses, honeybees, aquaponics, composting, and more that are designed to teach urban residents, with a particular focus on youth, how to have greater local access over essential resources.
Our values include working for ecological regeneration, equity, and social justice in the South End community and beyond. Inside the nexus of food, climate, and environmental justice, we work for all city residents to have access to healthy food, habitats, water, and air regardless of income, simultaneously examining and critiquing how systems of power and privilege may otherwise prevent this.
