Vocational Assessment and Counseling
Vocational Assessment and Counseling services are designed to assist patient with returning to or maintaining an employment situation through the use of compensatory approaches that support management of the ongoing effects of their brain injury. Assessment may include completion of formal tests to identify areas of career interest as well as strengths and weaknesses to consider when exploring appropriate potential employment opportunities. Counseling interventions may entail problem solving or troubleshooting strategies and the development of specific compensatory techniques to support organization, accuracy and efficiency on job tasks. Other areas targeted may include communication skills development, approaches that may facilitate successful performance at work. Exploration of other available vocational services, such as through NYS VESID are also utilized.
Program Information
Eligibility
Individuals with mild to moderate traumatic brain injury or other neurological disorder who have participating insurance plans or private payment.

Appointment only. Call for appointment. Referral required from physician. Individuals should make an initial telephone contact with the intake coordinator to provide referral information and to determine insurance participation and verification of benefits.
