Engages young adults to work through challenges they face living with a disability, mental health or substance abuse disorder with peers who have struggled with similar experiences.
Provides supports to families of children with social, emotional or behavioral concerns. Provides social and recreational opportunities for youth who are isolated from others due to their challenging behaviors and offers educational opportunities and networking for all families and community members through a variety of workshops and parenting support groups.
Provides supports and raising awareness for community families through one-on-one advocacy, and support, goal setting, budget development and individual attention as well as larger community presentations, increased access to services, and referrals to appropriate community resources.
Provides respite, advocacy, support, education and referrals to families with socially, emotionally, mentally or developmentally-challenged children in Saratoga, Warren, Washington, Albany, Rennselaer, Fulton, Montgomery, Schoharie, Herkimer, and Schenectady counties.
Provides support groups, parenting skills training, parent advocacy skill building, and home management skills. Assists families during transition phases of services such as placement, crisis, or between service systems.
Provides different support programs for families. Skill Building: Works with families of children with special needs to increase communication and assist with advocating for the youth in need. The Outreach Center at Cheryl’s Lodge offers center-based programs for low-income individuals and families within the Shenendehowa district and beyond. Programs include after school program, summer camps, High School Equivalency, Head Start (through Saratoga Economic Opportunity Council) Community Education, Literacy Support and more.
Provides home-to-school coordinators in the Hudson City, Ichabod Crane, and Taconic Hills Central School Districts, offering services for identified students who exhibit behaviors in the school that may have a basis in the home or family.
