The Transit department operates throughout the Glens Falls urban area. This includes Glens Falls, Queensbury, South Glens Falls, Moreau, Lake George, Hudson Falls, Fort Edward and Kingsbury
Designed to assist domestic violence victims in obtaining skills training and employment. Offers individual and group job training, computer use and job application assistance, job interview preparation, and financial planning.
Provides a variety of summer camp opportunities for school-aged children.
Provides recreational programs and activities, including a fitness center, gymansium, and swimming pool. Offers a preschool and a toddler early learning program and school-age childcare as well as adult sports, and senior programming. Financial assistance is available.
Provides workforce workshops that include transition services, parent-student IEP advocacy, post-secondary exploration, work readiness skills, self-advocacy skills, volunteer opportunities, and job exploration for youth from 14 to 21 years of age.
Services are provided to youth who are returning home or who are at risk of entering intensive services such as inpatient or residential service setting. Offers general assistance with service access and system navigation related to mental health, substance abuse, and developmental disabilities.
Provides prevention intervention targeted to youth who have demonstrated an extreme high risk of involvement in criminal activity. Services include case management, individual and family needs assessments with referrals, and peer group facilitation.
Provide youth a safe and secure and offers an opportunity to choose a better path with new education opportunities, community resources, and trauma-informed care.
The Schenectady County Youth Bureau offers a variety of direct service programs such as Legislative Shadowing and Career Exploration Events, athletic contests, Page by Page teen reading program, and other youth development initiatives. The Youth Bureau is also a local disbursement agent for OCFS funding.
