Emergency Assistance Advocacy
Emergency Assistance is a walk-in service for people living in poverty or facing a challenge meeting their basic needs. The goals are to prevent hunger and homelessness and to help people achieve stable, healthy and safe lives. Assistance is provided to people facing eviction or utilities shut-off and may include negotiations with landlords or utility companies, budget planning and direct financial support. Free legal consultation through the Capital District Women's Bar Association is offered on a regular basis.
